Warming Up

The Understanding of Warming Up

The most underrated and under used activity in the gym is the warm, for every one in the gym this should be focused on massively. The reasons to warm up before you start your gym session are:

  • Allows blood to travel around the body
  • Prevents injury
  • Stimulates the muscles you will be focusing on for that gym session
  • Reduces muscle soreness after your session

These reasons alone should be enough for any gym user to do a warm up because nobody wants to leave the gym with a sore body by doing half of your routine.

Best Exercises To Do For Your Warm Ups

For me personally I would advice any gym user to use bands, that is usually the only equipment you would need as they come handy for just putting your muscles under pressure to activate them without putting them in much strain.

For my own personal gym sessions I always like to start my warm ups with mobility exercises and by doing a little bit of cardio for example Cycling/ Treadmill/ Rowing. Them three exercises are my main use in all of my gym sessions but when it comes into my mobility training my exercises change depending on what I am training that day. I will go into detail of them mobility exercises separately with the training days in my later posts.

When doing your cardio of running/ cycling/ rowing it is mainly important that you do these for about 10 mins to really get your body ready for your gym session. They do not have to high intensity you can jog at a very slow etc. with the rowing and cycling just remember your getting your body warmed up, you are not doing a full session on cardio.
